The Booker Prize is the UK’s most prestigious literary award, celebrating longform fiction written in English and published in the UK and/or Ireland.
It was announced on September 22, 2026, that six books had been shortlisted for the 2026 prize.
Each shortlisted author receives £2,500 (approximately $3,200), while the winner will be awarded £50,000 (around $64,000), along with significant book sales and prestige.
The prize is open to novels published between October 2025 and September 2026.
The shortlist was selected from a longer list of 13 books, known as the Booker’s Dozen, which was revealed in July 2026.
The winner will be announced on November 9, 2026.
