In 2021, Eli and Kaitlyn Regalado claimed to receive divine instructions to launch INDXcoin, a cryptocurrency targeted at evangelical Christian communities.

The couple promoted the coin through family, friends, and religious networks, convincing over 500 investors to contribute more than $3 million.

However, the project collapsed within a year, leaving investors with significant financial losses.

The Regalados testified in court that God had guided their decisions, including marriage, family planning, and the cryptocurrency venture.
