Midwest, targeting ancient oceanic rocks linked to hydrogen production.
While no commercially viable reservoir has been found yet, scientists estimate that trillions of tons of hydrogen exist naturally within Earth’s crust.
Even recovering a small fraction could meet global hydrogen demand for centuries.
However, public data on these findings remains scarce, and the search has so far yielded no confirmed large-scale sources.
