From Nebraska farm

Megan Donahue, a scientist born and raised on a small farm in Nebraska, discovered her passion for physics at age 12 by reading books from her local library.

This early curiosity led her to study physics and astronomy, fields she pursued through higher education.

Her journey began with a providential interaction—an unexpected but pivotal moment—that introduced her to cutting-edge research in x-ray imaging during her time at MIT.

The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program at MIT played a crucial role in shaping her career by connecting her with advanced scientific work that she found fascinating.

Today, Donahue is a professor of physics and astronomy at Michigan State University, where she continues to explore the mysteries of the universe.
