All-around junior male

The article describes All-around Junior Male, an experimental short film by Inuk filmmaker Lindsay McIntyre that documents a traditional Inuit game called the one-foot high kick.

This game tests competitors' strength, balance, and control as they leap from both feet to strike a suspended target, landing on the same foot used to kick.

After each successful round, the target is raised higher, increasing the difficulty.

Historically, the one-foot high kick was used by Inuit hunters to signal a successful hunt, demonstrating both physical prowess and precision.

The film captures Nunamiut athlete Sean Uquqtuq performing the game, using monochrome, hand-processed film to focus on his movements and facial expressions.

The visual style, combined with an ambient musical score, creates an immersive and dreamlike atmosphere.
